Hi Sgitheanaich,

I vaguely recall warning someone about non-neutral point of view on the Scottish National Party, but I think it was a long time ago; I can't find it now. If you got a message from me about it, and it wasn't you who edited that article, I'm sure what happened is that you were editing from a shared IP; either using the same public computer as a person I warned, or using an internet service at home that rotates IP addresses randomly among its users. I see you've had an account since at least July 3rd, when you edited Plockton; I also see that I've never left you a message addressed to your Sgitheanaich account. I assume you received this message before you logged in today?

In any case, as long as you always log in, you should no longer receive messages that aren't meant for you. That warning is not attached to your account, so no one will see it and mistakely think you vandalized anything. Sorry for any confusion.

Glad you've decided to join us here. Below, I'm going to paste a standardized welcome message that has some useful links if you're new to editing Wikipedia. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message on my talk page again, and I'll do what I can to help. --barneca (talk) 00:46, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Dear Sgitheanaich: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user talk (discussion) page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. A third option is to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator.

One last bit of advice: please sign any discussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!   --barneca (talk) 00:46, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
