Chief Nehale Ya Mpingana[edit]
Chief Nehale was a brave Namibian fighter in the late 1880's,he successfully fought two great wars to protect the Ovandonga people's peace and wealth in the Namutoni area which is located in the northern parts of Namibia.In June 1886 disputes between the Afrikaner Trekkers and the invasion of the German imperial force led to his battle.On 28 January 1904 as an anti colonist[1]1 Chief Nehale was known to be the man on Fort Namutoni with 500 men who were up against the Great German Imperial Force,with bows and arrows,armed with ammunition,spears and words of encouragement by diviners and a touch of magic ,as the man attacked the Fort,they humuiliatad the Germans by being the victories and spoiling of wars that included horses,cattle and logistic supplies. [2]2He has been highly acknowledged also because of defeating "The Republic of Upingtonia"whereby he killed William Worthington Jordan a settler from the Cape Colony in South Africa and a leader of the colourds,leaving the Boer Trekkers without a leader and fled back to their homelands in Angola and others returned to the Transvaal.[3]3
