August 2011

[edit]

Please note that I have removed your personal phone number and email address fro your userpage. This is a minimal action; further discussion should take place at the WP:AN/I link mentioned above. Tonywalton Talk 14:29, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've now removed most of the content of your userpage. Please don't take this personally and in particular don't take it as trivialising either your condition or your attempts to maintain a support network. However Wikipedia is not intended either as a blog or as a platform for advocacy (of anything, good or bad). Wikipedia is intended as an encyclopædia. The rules regarding social networking and advocacy use apply equally to userpages as to pages in "mainspace" (where the articles live). Please read WP:UP#PROMO and WP:UP#USERBIO.

This is not a request not to edit WP but please do note that should you edit in content areas related to your medical condition you must bear in mind the Wikipedia rules on original research (anything you write should not be your own personal experience; it should be taken from verifiable, reliable sources) and neutral point of view (anything you write should not be advocacy of your own point of view).

The following contains some links that may come in useful:

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Tonywalton Talk 14:55, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of user subpage

[edit]

Hi. I'd be grateful if you could let me know when I can delete the subpage at User:Siouxsherat/Old User Page which I re-created in order to give you the chance to copy your work offline. The same rules do apply to all Wikipedia pages, including user subpages, so it's still actually in contravention of the rules mentioned earlier. Unless you let me know earlier that it may be deleted (or "tag" it for deletion by placing the text {{db-user}} at the top of the page), I propose to delete it in 1 week's time, that is on the 15th August (Europe/London timezone). Regards, Tonywalton Talk 15:33, 8 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've now deleted it. Tonywalton Talk 09:04, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
