Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Dear Slaciner: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Wikipedia Boot Camp, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any dicussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions to the U.S.A.K. article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words. For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy editing! FreplySpang (talk) 02:24, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, reposting the same article under multiple titles is not a good thing. Instead, you should create one article and then use redirects for other possible titles. FreplySpang (talk) 02:26, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your note on Talk:U.S.A.K.. Do you have an email address where we can contact you to verify permissions? Also, there are a couple of details that need to be made clear. First, Wikipedia requires a special kind of permission called the GFDL. Basically, we can't accept copyrighted material unless we get permission for it to be reused freely by anyone who wants, including commercial uses. Second, the article about U.S.A.K. needs to be written differently to fit into our encyclopedia. Even if permission is granted, the article would not stay in the form you posted it. It would be better if you summarized the material from the website instead of copying it. FreplySpang (talk) 21:44, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, here's the deal. I've rewritten the article about U.S.A.K., summarizing it and removing the promotional language. Wikipedia articles are intended to be neutral, not written from the point of view of the subject. Because the article now does not use the text from the website, we don't need permission any more. Also, I have moved your curriculum vitae to your user page, User:Slaciner. We strongly discourage people from writing articles about themselves. See Wikipedia:Autobiography for the full explanation. Site links[edit]

I've removed links to the Turkish Weekly site from several articles and placed them on the relevant talk pages, since wikipedia policy recommends against adding links to your own site, especially if it has advertising, or you're adding multiple links. Please don't re-add them - if they're valuable, another wikipedia editor will surely do so. In future cases, please add them to the talk pages in the first place. --Fuzzie (talk) 22:11, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

COMU[edit]

Hello Dr. Laciner. I have created a redirect from Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University to COMU -- its best to not duplicate content, just create a redirect page. Have also added a University infobox (you might want to fill more data in) and standardized and formatted the article so that it is more in keeping with Wikipedia pages. If you need any assistance, please feel free to ask. (Arundhati Bakshi (talkcontribs)) 17:25, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am saddened of your absence[edit]

Hi Laciner, I am a little saddened to realise that you stopped contributing to Wikipedia after my Welcome message, I was wondering why so? Another thing, Maral is wondering when will her last message be published, she apparently emailed it to your email addresses, the three of them but as of yet has not recieved any answers. I hope that this delay has nothing to do with your shortness of word in your preparation to answer her in the follow up. The reason why this crossed my mind is because your answer to the letter number 5 was far from satisfying.
Also, you may in due time, when you have time of course, take the moment to read the exchanges I and Holdwater had in Wikipedia. I guess Holdwater tried having better audience recycling his failure in Wikipedia in your journal. I was also informed that I was in the wrong in my belief that Maral was a journalist, I could not have expected that you will fail to get your message accross against someone not only who doesn't have the PhD to hide herself under like some, but not even the least, in journalism.
Lastly, I have decided to publish her last letter on the web, of course after getting her premission with the rest of the other letters including yours and the one written by Holdwater, while she refused to answer him, I will write an answer to Holdwater letter. Of course, if the last letter was unpublished because of some technical difficulties just tell me and I may reconsider my decision.
Truly yours. Fad (ix) 03:37, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand you are the director of the organisation International Strategic Research Organization. I was wondering if you really want the logo to be released under a GNU licence. Usualy organisations want to keep their logo to themselves... --Cat out 22:51, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Journal of Administrative Sciences has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
