[edit]

Hello, Smilesonemillion, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

...and please try to use edit summaries when you edit articles, as it helps the other editors know what changes you made without having to actually check the page. :) Syrthiss 22:17, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just letting you know, I reverted your edit to Zebra Finch. The right place to ask a question about the wording of an article is on its talk page (click the discussion tab at the top of the page to access its talk page.) As to the meaning of 'decimate', the meaning of 'severely reduce' has existed for many, many years. Please see sense 5 and the usage notes at wiktionary:decimate for more info. I do agree, though, that that part of the article could be phrased in a better way, although I'm not quite sure how to do it. :) --lbft (talk) 19:03, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
