Templates

[edit]

Several of these templates were deleted by wikipedia. One is at Samantha Stosur. They are about the most useless things since they are put at the bottom of a slew of other templates on the player's bio, saying and linking to the same things the infobox and bio already does. The dude made a whole bunch of these, and was accused of being a clone of another editor that created a bunch also. By the way, I'm certainly not going to discuss on another editors talk page. The only delete vote at that Tfd was by a non-tennis editor who has voted delete/merge at 99.7% of the 2700 template deletion discussions they have participated in. That doesn't come close to indicating that Tennis Project and Wikipedia at large has deemed these individual player templates as useless. When I see claims that I believe are false/misleading, I will point it out, regardless of the venue. Sod25m (talk) 09:09, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Tennis Project has. Wikipedia has deleted several of those templates. They are pretty much useless. But I certainly am not having a discussion with an editor on another editor's talk page. That's not the place to ever have it. Come to think of it... who are you commenting on this editor's page? I don't even know if you are the same editor. Please link the other Tfds and tennis project discussion where it was decided that the templates were useless then. Strong claims of what Wikipedia "at large" has decided require strong supporting evidence, and I'm highly doubtful of the claim considering there is a category full of similar templates for non-tennis athletes. Who I am is irrelevant. You posted here in response to my comment on your post on Revolynka's talk page, so I've responded here. Sod25m (talk) 10:28, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Retired" status

[edit]

I hope you may reconsider this status update. You have been a very good editor on these wikipedia tennis pages. Personally I have been tempted to retire from wikipedia, but I consider being semi-retired is a better option. With semi-retirement the user can keep an eye on certain pages (for example keeping an eye on those excellent ranking pages you created and that you and I contributed greatly to). I consider I am now semi-retired on wikipedia. I am no longer making large-scale changes to pages and am no longer undertaking research, but I am still keeping an eye on pages and intervening when necessary. I hope you may consider doing the same. Tennishistory1877 (talk) 00:09, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
