My name is ...

[edit]

The Irish translations are:

"What's your name?" = "Cad is ainm duit?" (pronouce: Cod ess an-im ditch?)

"My name is XXX" = "XXX is ainm dom" (pronounce: XXX ess an-im dum)

- or -

"Who are you?" = "Cé hé tusa?" (pronounce: Kay hay tus-a?)

"I am XXX" = "Is mise XXX" (pronounce: ess mish-a XXX)

Hope this is of help, --sony-youthpléigh 20:36, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, so do you know which would be the preferred statement by Irish speakers? I know the prefered in Gaelic is "Is mise XXX." Thanks a lot. Sonalchagi 12:42, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
