Welcome![edit]

Hello Hagiemarketing and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, please see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Hagiemarketing, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Mark Arsten (talk) 00:26, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No improvement - still represents the organisation. Peridon (talk) 15:04, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi There. I am a little confused as this is my first time editing a Wikipedia page. It appears that our name does not meet the username policy. I would be more than happy to change our user name to Hagie Manufacturing instead of Hagie Marketing. Also, I noticed that I was blocked due to advertising our products. I apologize, as I did not realize that this was not allowed on Wikipedia. Am I able to list our products and add photos of them, or is that still considered advertising? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Again I apologize and I hope that you will unblock our page, as I spent a good majority of yesterday figuring out how to edit it. If we are unblocked I will make sure to remove anything that needs to be removed as soon as I gain access. Thank you in advance for your help!

Notes[edit]

Saying things like "optimizes our customers’ growth by providing the most innovative crop protection solutions" will not get you anywhere on Wikipedia. That, and virtually the whole of the article, is pure PR speak (and it has been removed, so you don't have to do it...). This is an encyclopaedia, not PRWire or a directory. I'd have blocked for 'spamusername' rather than 'username' - that is, both username AND advertising. Look at other articles. If you find one like that, please tell us. Please read WP:SPAM and WP:PEACOCK about advertising and looking like advertising. Read WP:CORP about corporate notability - not every company passes the test even though they may be big and successful (one I remember had its products in millions of homes - but as they made own brand goods for chain stores, no-one had heard of them - except the Infernal Revenue...). Then read WP:RS about the reliable independent sources needed to prove the notability. When you can (after a suitable name is chosen and you get unblocked), create the article somewhere like User:''newname''/DRAFT. If it gets tagged there, it'll only be for spam (I can't see you getting tagged for attack, but copyright violation must be avoided - even if it's on your site and you wrote it, it can't come here). OK? Do some reading and digging for references. Find them first. Peridon (talk) 15:21, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

BTW Please sign talk page posts with four ~ things - that's code that tells the system to put your sig on with a datestamp. Makes life a lot easier for everyone. Peridon (talk) 15:22, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Am I able to use my personal name as a username? I understand now what you mean about not using this for PR and to be putting general information about the company so that it does not sway one's opinion. I can start from scratch and recreate the whole page if necessary with only the information that is allowed. Please let me know if this is possible.

Another tip - to indent, use : at the start of the line (or :: etc if you want to move further. You can use your real name if you want. And assuming someone else hasn't already got it, of course. Most of us prefer to be anonymous - it's safer in the long run. You can choose any sort of name - there's even a 'Boing! said Zebedee'. You could be Pink Twinkle, Ethelred the Great, The Iron Walrus or whatever you fancy. You need the notability bit first of all. Get the references. If there's no RS sources, there's no point in trying an article. Peridon (talk) 15:51, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks OK to me, and it's available. When you go to CHU (see instructions in green box), scroll down to Simple and give the reason that you're changing from an organisation name (which they'll see anyway, but it's polite...). Peridon (talk) 18:07, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I went and followed the above steps for changing my username. Now what do I need to do?

I submitted a new version of an article page that I am working on for approval. Would you please look over and let me know if this is acceptable thus far?

Statecheerleader (talk) 13:36, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Statecheerleader. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Hagie Manufacturing".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Hagie Manufacturing}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Rankersbo (talk) 07:18, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
