Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added to the page Avril Lavigne do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Ward3001 01:59, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Linkspam

[edit]

The spam guidelines for Wikipedia state: Adding external links to an article or user page for the purpose of promoting a website or a product is not allowed, and is considered to be spam. This is especially true for websites that have a commercial interest, which describes the webpage [1]. The fact that the website contains "reviews and interviews" does not justify adding linkspam to an article. Continued spamming can result in being blocked from editing Wikipedia, especially after receiving a warning. Thank you. Ward3001 02:38, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
