This page is for messages relating to my use of this and other welcome templates to welcome new users. Before leaving a message below, please be aware that:
- I do not review users edits before welcoming them and do not know if they have been vandalising or not.
- I will leave a username notice on any occasion when I notice a violation of username policy, but this is not always immediately apparent.
- I believe that even productive users can be easily mistaken for vandals if they are unfamiliar with policy, and will not stop welcoming users because of the possibility they have edited disruptively.
- I will provide help to the best of my ability to any new user who asks for help on my talk page. While this often includes advice on dispute resolution, I will attempt to remain neutral and uninvolved in any disputes.
When welcoming new users, I tend to assume good faith to the point of naivete, but I believe this is the best way to avoid offending those who merely fail to understand policy. In an attempt to reduce the risk of condoning vandalism, I have attempted to make this template as neutral as possible - any further suggestions about this are welcome. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 11:01, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
