Articles for deletion discussion of Steve Owens (politician)
[edit]In nominating Steve Owens (politician) for deletion, you have confused two of the three deletion processes in that you added a proposed deletion tag to the article, but created an Articles for deletion discussion as well. Proposed deletion (or "prod") is for deletions that you believe no one would object to, and the nomination process consists only of adding a tag to the article. Articles for deletion ("AFD") is for deletions that need to be decided by community consensus, and nomination consists of a three-step process that can be found at WP:AFDHOWTO. I have gone ahead and converted the tag on the article into an AFD tag.
I have also weighed in on the merits of the article's deletion. As it stands, the article is very unlikely to be deleted, as at least one reliable source verifies that he meets notability criteria for politicians at WP:POLITICIAN. Any remaining issues with the article can be solved with editing, not deletion. —KuyaBriBriTalk 14:59, 28 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you for encouragement and instruction. I'll remember to read documentation more carefully next time. Sustymenko (talk) 11:10, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
