Hacienda are an American rock and roll band from San Antonio, Texas. The band consists of brothers Abraham Villanueva (piano/vocals), Jaime Villanueva (drums/vocals), Rene Villaneuva (bass/vocals) and cousin Dante Schwebel (guitar/vocals). Their sound has been described as similar to that of The Beach Boys[1]
Biography[edit]
Hacienda was founded by Abraham Villanueva and Dante Schwebel in 2004. Villanueva and Schwebel were unable to find musicians that matched their musical style and personality. At the same time, Rene Villanueva and Jaime Villanueva had been part of a short-lived band. The three brothers and cousin combined to form Hacienda.
In late 2005, the band began recording demos. A demo of six songs found its way to Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. He was impressed at the musicianship of the band, and encouraged them to record a complete album. The result was Loud Is The Night, produced and engineered by Auerbach.
