I have often been scathing of any current mainstream music in recent years. This, I have come to realise, was a symptom of ignorance however, rather than evaluation. If you look beyond the mainstream, manufactured chart drivel that saturates the media, positive progress is being made in various genres, and artists are experimenting with new sounds, and finding new ways to do it. By this I mean they are sampling, and doing so at a level that has almost made the musical instrument obsolete.
