Ok ... I'll take the bait[edit]

Any particular reason you feel a need to mention the race of Hispanic football players in the intro when the same is not done for players of any other race? --B 02:37, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why not it is constantly overlooked and all last Super Bowl all I heard on t.v. was how great it was to finally have two black head coaches in this game.

No mention was ever made about Tom Flores and Jim Plunkett and the Super Bowls they had won together.

There is plenty of locations were an athlete's race is identified. It's a part of who they are and they embrace it.

Wikipedia is not the place to come to achieve social justice. See (Wikipedia:Do not disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point). If you don't approve of ESPN's coverage of minority athletes, ESPN is the one to complain to. We don't start our articles out with "So and so is a white such and such", "so and so is a black such and such", etc. --B 02:54, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why does the Freddy Adu page start that way?

I'd like to thank you for coming to terms with this. I guess no one ever really gets the recognition they deserve. We will continue to hinder the growth of education together in peace.

That article appears to be talking about his country of origin, not his race. I know nothing whatsoever about soccer, but it looks like it might be significant because, from reading the article, it looks like he is from Ghana with American citizenship, but plays for Portugal. So his nationality is conceivably important to the topic. (Although, again, I don't know anything about soccer and I had never heard of this person before. If you believe that listing the nationality there is wrong, you may want to discuss it at Talk:Freddy Adu.) --B 03:09, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
