Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, TerriPaddockJC. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page John Caudwell, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Edwardx (talk) 11:34, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Edward - you messaged me that I cannot update John Caudwell's page because I work for him. Please can you advise how I can make updates? There are several factual inaccuracies and key omissions. I don't want to put PR stuff in, just accurate information, including about his personal life (eg the date of his son's birth).
I have submitted to John's Talk page, as you suggested, for one of the worst inaccuracies which is frequently cited in media interviews by journalists using Wiki as a source. This causes huge and ongoing problems.
I am not a Wiki specialist. How can I best get these changes made and kept? Can I send you a list of them for you to consider?
Thanks in advance TerriPaddockJC (talk) 09:58, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, TerriPaddockJC. For a start, you need to liaise with your colleague Bensutcliffe78, who posted to Talk:John Caudwell after you (both yesterday). Everything you need to do is set out in my message to you above. I am an unpaid volunteer, so am unable to provide you with further guidance. Edwardx (talk) 12:11, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

John Caudwell[edit]

I proposed a change on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Caudwell

It was removed by Edwardx

Why does Edwardx insist on exagerating little flaws in Caudwell s charity ?
