Hello and welcome!
Would you, perhaps, think it more appropriate to enter this term into Wikipedia's sister project Wiktionary? I feel it would belong more in a dictionary type entry rather than an encyclopedia.
Thanks! SWik78 (talk • contribs) 15:05, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
It does tie in with a number of dynamic articles re: "melting pot," assimilation and Canadian history Tesserian (talk) 15:12, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Tesserian
- Perhaps, then, you may want to expand it somewhat and make it look more like an article and explain the "melting pot" correlations. You could look through Wikipedia:Your first article and see how to do so. As it stands right now, one could argue that Tesserian violates the official Wikipedia policy Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, more specifically the section that deals with dictionary definitions which specifically states articles that contain nothing more than a definition should be expanded with additional encyclopedic content. If you need help in expanding it, feel free to ask me for it and I will do what I can to help you even though I know nothing about the subject. But I do think that this article should be either expanded or transwikied to Wiktionary.

Understood. I will expand the article and add appropriate references. Tesserian (talk) 15:24, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Tesserian
- Cool. I added a standard Welcome template to the top of your talk page that contains some more links to policies and guidelines that might be useful to you in your expansion of the article. Feel free to remove it if you wish.

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Tesserian, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
