In the artical about the History of Amateur Cricket, in the section about Gentlemen v Players you mention Alfred J Lowth. I would be interested to know the source of the information that a) he had the nick-name 'Dandy', and b) that he had to give up Cricket on account of failing eyesight. Thanks in anticipation ANTLowth (talk) 12:52, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A general question

[edit]

Please forgive my ignorance of cricket, but would you explain three things.

  • What is a googly and how many ways can a batsman be out?
  • What is a yorker?
