This gospel musical group is a popular genre with roots stemming from the church, based upon Christian principles and bible teachings. This group performs some of the soul-stirring music that continues to inspire, encourage and touch the heart of people and will bring hope to all lost souls. The New Generation band is a worship band that originated as a part of Faithway Baptist Church. The band tours the whole of Ghana and Africa, performing at the various Faithway church branches as well as general concert venues. They compose the songs for their own performances and for the other Faithway Church worship teams that perform at weekly services. The group was formed in the year 2012. The group was originally formed by two close friends within the singing ministry led by Mrs. Christina Amoah and Miss Victoria Ashley, called Faithway Baptist church international. These close friends were called Jephtah and Ernest. These friends were gifted in singing and were able to write their own songs. They were both in the same singing ministry called the Zion singers. Jepthah was the pianist for the church and as time passed by Ernest fused himself in learning the acoustic guitar. Ernest being the leader of the group began to call on other members of the Zion singers to assist in the in the quest of touching lives and bring hope to the lost and above all winning souls for the Lord. The first person he called was a lady called Rhoda who was the lead soprano singer. Ernest asked Jonathan who was the sound engineer of the church to be their chief sound engineer. He later spoke to one guy named Morris who was the drummer for the church to join them. With God on their side they both agreed to join the group. Jephtah suggested to Ernest in the year 2012 that they should form a musical group to inspire, touch and above all win souls for the Lord. In the year 2014, they decided to release their ever first single after they have written so many of their songs.
