Rasun is a son of a man named Jahsun who was founder(1979) and member of a band called Strictly Roots and made up of a mixture of American and Jamaican musicians, which helped pioneer Reggae music in the United States.
At the age of 12 Rasun began singing a few vocals with the band and by 14 was playing drums. With the passing of his father it was only natural for him to take over the role as front man. reference for above found at http://www.dubcnn.com/interviews/rasun09
