Change type of page: from disambiguation to broad-concept article

[edit]

The redirect to Mode of Transport is part of a major problem because it mixes up two different concepts which are both explained in the article on transport:

Modes of transport include air, land (rail and road), water, cable, pipeline and space while

Means of transport are any of the different kinds of transport facilities used to carry people or cargo. They may include vehicles, riding animals and pack animals. Vehicles may include wagons, automobiles, bicycles, buses, trains, trucks, helicopters, watercraft, spacecraft and aircraft.

The problem is similar in Wikidata where modes and means of transport are mixed up in Wikidata item Q334166 while, at the same time, a Wikimedia disambiguation page means of transport exists under Wikidata item Q2516347.

It will be required to split the Mode of transport article and move one part of it to Means of transport. However, as a first step, I suggest to change its page type from disambiguation to broad-concept article.Thomaszwilling (talk) 17:34, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A Wikidata entry has now been created: means of transport (Q106839123),Thomaszwilling (talk) 08:06, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
