Ishmael, Israelites, the Land of Israel & "Jewish belief"
[edit]True, in Genesis 15, the Land of Israel was given by the Lord to the descendants of Abraham but, in Numbers 34:13-15, the covenant is spelled much more precisely: the descendants are in fact nine and a half tribes descendant from Jacob (who are also descendants from Abraham, no contradiction here). Ishmael is not one of them. You may consider the Bible as "Jewish belief", but many Christians would disagree. In any case, welcome to Wikipedia! Emmanuelm (talk) 16:49, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
