Welcome
[edit]Welcome to the Wikipedia editing community.
While I appreciate your attempts to make the Packers roster page reflect what you see on the depth chart, differentiating player positions between right and left field is not standard for NFL roster pages, and is ultimately counter productive. Players frequently change what side of the field they play on, especially defensive players. So listing a player as a "right cornerback" doesn't mean anything when corners often switch sides based on assignments or scheme. Similarly, players might be forced to switch sides due to injury, like a right tackle being forced to switch to left due to injury. If we were to differentiate between right and left, we would be forced to make frequent, and unnecessary edits to roster pages. It is far simpler, and the Wikipedia standard, to simply list players by their basic position. Depth charts change constantly, it is not necessary for us to make frequent edits to try and keep up with those changes. I will undo the changes you have made to the Packers roster page. If you have any questions or would like to debate this topic further, feel free to contact me, either here or on my talk page. We always welcome new editors, but I ask that you be mindful of established standards when making future edits. Thank you, and welcome to Wikipedia.--Chicofiesta13 (talk) 01:36, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
