I have altered the structural engineering article to match the consensus reached on the Talk:Structural_engineer page about whether structural engineering is a part of civil engineering. To answer your specific point, it is possible to be both a structural and a civil engineer. I know this, because I hold a degree accredited both by the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers, and I am an active member of both. I am a civil engineer who specialises in structural engineering. Brunel, Thomas Telford and many other engineers in history have performed both structural and civil engineering projects, and it is very common today.Tkn20 18:50, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
