Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tomasz1973. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Tomasz Misiak, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Tomasz Misiak, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. The article about Tomasz Misiak is primarily based on allegations stemming from a marital conflict. The links and references justifying the claims in the article are sourced from press materials inspired by or constructed within this conflict. The person creating this material uses it for defaming my person and has lost legal cases as a result, even being sentenced to criminal charges for her actions. The quoted press materials are selective and mostly belong to the so-called government media of the Law and Justice regime, which has politically abused the prosecutor's office in Poland. This matter may end up in court because Wikipedia is being used for further defamation of my person. This material has little to do with real facts and is a compilation of opinions and legal events presented from a one-sided perspective. Please provide instructions on how to make the necessary corrections to such content before I involve a law firm." Tomasz1973 (talk) 15:57, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OK thank You for information, as my comments were removed as "conflict of interest" in case I supported them with reliable media coverage. I don't know who removed initial wikipedia content but current one is full of manipulation, non democratic government media, repeating accuses which I won I court and and people who were doing it were sentence under criminal code for defamation. What I can do in such situation. Tomasz1973 (talk) 00:41, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Let me clarify: this is all a game. Those of us playing the game will kick you out if you threaten legal action. Either win the argument here or leave. Because you are the subject of the article, you should not be editing it, at all. This is our slam book and we get to say mean things if we want to. If you want to argue that what the article says should be changed discuss it on the talk page. Again, none of this courtroom intonation stuff. If you take issue with the sources used bring it to WP:RSN. Not all news sources are reliable and it's a fair argument if you think sources shouldn't be allowed on some topics. That said, if you don't like your state media you are probably out of luck; Wikipedia likes state media because it has the veneer of respectability. I hope this makes sense to you, as you're vainly upset about your public image. Please pray the Litany of humility. Chris Troutman (talk) 00:54, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
