Protests & Suffragettes Wiki Workshop

[edit]

Hello again Tootsie Custard Knox! It was great to see you at the Saturday workshop, and I hope that you enjoyed the session.

Now that you've learned the basics, I really would encourage you to keep editing! If you'd like a reminder about how to edit, there's a good guide on Wikimedia Commons that I've linked to here.

Wiki is never finished - it's a constantly evolving entity. And there are a huge community of other editors out there who can help.

Here's some links that I hope you'll find useful:

To start a new article you can use your sandbox, or the Drafts function.

You can find out more about what's happening with Wikimedia in Scotland on the WMUK site here.

To keep up to date about Wikimedia events happening throughout Scotland, to learn more about ScotWiki projects, or to publicise your own ScotWiki event or project, join the ScotWiki Mailing List!

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. See you soon! Lirazelf (talk) 13:35, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there!

[edit]

Sara here from Wikimedia UK. I was looking back on the series of events that we did with Protests & Suffragettes / Women's History Scotland over the last few years, and just wanted to touch base with a few people, yourself included! I just wanted to reach out and say hi, and see if there was any support I could offer you about doing more editing, if there were any questions you had, or if you had any thoughts about Wiki editing in general.

Also wanted to let you know about the ScotWiki mailing list, if you're not already signed up to it - it's a low-traffic email list pertaining to all things happening in Scotland regarding Wiki. Apologies for the rather ungainly sign up link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSctpnDjO_PHZeOTrA0yjtVLqE4oDfjLtYhWzQVTwk712BSJJQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Please do feel free to reach out any time - you can get me on sara.thomas@wikimedia.org.uk.

All the best, and I hope you're having a good summer!
