Deletion of Sources

[edit]

Hello Transgenderoriole, Thank you for your edits to Wikipedia! I noticed the recent removal of many sources on the Mega Society page, and I wanted to reach out regarding this change. According to the Content Removal guideline, information that is well-sourced and relevant should generally remain in an article unless there’s consensus for removal. If there’s a particular issue with the sources, it should be discussed and only removed only if a consensus among editors is reached. Best regards, Robin 2601:1C2:4200:2840:7DF6:B86D:DFAA:6DA4 (talk) 18:30, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You added 2,000 characters worth of sources for the first sentence of an article, all of which seem to not relate to the article's subject or mention it tangentially at best. Please find something else to do. Transgenderoriole (talk) 18:34, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that the number of sources may appear extensive, but sourcing is a fundamental principle of Wikipedia, as it allows readers to verify information and enhances the article's credibility. According to Wikipedia's Content Removal guideline and Verifiability policy, articles must have reliable sources.
The goal here is to ensure accuracy while adhering to Wikipedia’s standards for sourcing. It’s recommended that changes involving the removal of significant or contested sources be discussed first in order to reach a consensus. Thanks again for your input!
Best,
Robin 2601:1C2:4200:2840:7DF6:B86D:DFAA:6DA4 (talk) 19:00, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
