A vs. an

[edit]

Hi @TrungJ2655 and welcome to Wikipedia. I just reverted all of your edits changing "a" to "an" before words with leading vowels. In English, the choice of "a" vs. "an" depends on the sound of the next syllable, not just which letter it is. Many English words starting with vowels are pronounced with a leading "W" or "Y" sound. All three of your changes were such examples. "Euclidean" is pronounced "Yoo-klid-ean", "one" is pronouced "wun", and "user" is pronounced "yoo-ser". Therefore "a Euclidean", "a one-off", and "a user" are all correct in English, while "an" would be incorrect in these examples. –jacobolus (t) 03:54, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
