International architecture magazine

UME features architectural working drawings and critical texts locating the work in a cultural context. UME was launched in 1996 by Haig Beck and Jackie Cooper, also the founding editors of International Architect (1979-1986). Neither magazine contains advertising.

Haig Beck was editor of Architectural Design (1976-1979). Today he and Jackie Cooper edit and publish UME and collaborate as writers. Their books include monographs on Denton Corker Marshall (Birkhauser, 2000), Glenn Murcutt (Images, 2002), Tract Landscape Architects (Images, 2004) and Architectus (ORO, 2009). They are writing on Cox Rayner Architects.

UME 1-22 may be downloaded online: [1]. International Architect (1979-1986, 19 issues), may also be downloaded from the same website. This architectural design resource is free. UME 8-21 only remain available as hard copies.

UME presents works in substantial detail and includes architects' statements as well as editorial explanatory texts. International Architect was launched in 1979. Eighteen issues were published to 1986.
