Edit warring and refusing to explain with edit summaries[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Rachel McAdams. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Ward3001 (talk) 15:54, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"DOB - 1976 do not change it back to 1978 without extensive proof or I will report": You will report? Does that mean you will report yourself for edit warring because if you keep this up it is you who will be eligible for a block. There are conflicting birthdates in different sources. Look at the evidence on the talk page. The sources do not agree. And a TV station (stating 1978) is a more reliable source than IMDb. IMDb has been criticized heavily on Wikipedia's policy and guideline pages because there is no objective verification. The birthdate was established in the article as 1978 at the time the discussion began on the talk page, and the procedure on Wikipedia is for it to stay there until either: a definitive source resolves the conflicts between the sources already given; or there is a consensus to change it to 1976, and no consensus emerged.
But I don't plan to revert any time soon because that would be edit warring, a violation of Wikipedia's policies, as you have done. My main purpose in this message is to challenge your arrogant attitude. Who the hell do you think died and made you wikiboss? You do not own the article, and you alone do not determine consensus, and you alone do not determine which of the conflicting sources to ignore and which to accept. Let me suggest that you go back and read some of the fundamental policies on Wikipedia, starting with the five pillars. I'll be watching your edits, on Rachel McAdams and elsewhere. And in the mean time, let me assure you that if the birthdate is reset to 1978 and you continue to edit war by changing it again, you will be setting yourself up for a block. And that's not a threat; it's a promise. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 00:48, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks[edit]

"if that makes your authoritarian self feel better":
Regarding your comments on Talk:Rachel McAdams: Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 17:22, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
