Regarding Pushpaka Unni[edit]

Thanks for your comments. As per the references that I have, Thiyyattunnis and Pattarunnis are also a part of the pushpaka unnis. Actually there is no sub-caste among unni. The caste unni itself is regarded as a sub-caste of pushpaka brahmins. However the adjectival forms such as thiyyattunni, pattarunni etc. came on the basis of their occupation or origin. It is interesting to see that pattarunnis follow matrilineal system of heritage. The Unni caste is only one. The thiyyattunnis, pattarunnis, samanthanunnis etc. are regarded as avanthara vibhagas of pushpaka unni.

I also came to know that you have references on Thiyyaattunnis. If you have such references, it would be better to expand the article Thiyyattu. A link to this art form can be found in the page Pushpaka Brahmins. Expecting your contributions and reply Ambalavasi 04:14, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Festivals according to solar calendar (Reply)[edit]

I am not sure that the comment that Makar Sankranthi is the only Hindu Festival celeberated according to solar calaendar is correct. What about Vishu/Bihu?

The fact that there are also several other festivals celeberated in certain regions only is not mentioned. E.g., Tiruvatira in Kerala --K N Unni 10:47, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comment! Do not hesitate to add information about Vishu and Bihu into the list yourself. Happy editing! S.D. ¿п? § 12:46, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
