Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. If you feel the link should be added to the article please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thanks. 00:18, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Please stop adding commercial links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. 00:19, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

I would like additional information about this. Please provide the article name so I can see what I have done. I believe the external links I have provided would be useful for the visitor. Utahneighbors 00:38, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have also added this message at your IP address's talk page, User talk:67.138.240.6. While establishing a forum for each community to gather and discuss community topics, contribute to a calendar, and build a FAQ section for new members of the community is a worthwhile goal, and could likely be financially rewarding for the owner, Wikipedia is not the proper vehicle to drive traffic to the new site. Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia, and has strict policies for inclusion of content and style guidelines for more specific topics. One particularly important policy is What Wikipedia is not. In particular, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising, or a repository of links, or a directory. You'll notice that I have left the link to utahneighbors.com's Eagle Mountain site because the content that already exists there possibly contains useful, encyclopedic information. Simply being a forum for communities to gather is not enough for inclusion on Wikipedia. You can read more about the guidelines for External links at Wikipedia:External links. Thank you. -- Renesis13 20:47, 13 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
