Venezia FC

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Matthew hk. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Venezia F.C. have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Unofficial facebook page regarding a subject, is not allowed as an entry in the external link section. ONLY official page of the football club is allowed and you was warned as User talk:67.22.227.162. Matthew_hk tc 12:34, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matthew. I was wondering why you think the links are not related to Venezia FC. Thank you VFC in Canada (talk) 12:36, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
please RESPECT WIKIPEDIA POLICY ON UNOFFICIAL FACEBOOK PAGE. Matthew_hk tc 12:37, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided:

"except for a link to an official page of the article's subject, one should generally avoid providing external links to: 10. Social networking sites..."

Matthew_hk tc 12:40, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please be aware that those two sources are officially affiliated to Venezia FC VFC in Canada (talk) 12:54, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The only case allowed, is located here. https://www.facebook.com/veneziafc/ (and https://twitter.com/VeneziaFC_IT https://www.instagram.com/veneziafc/) the one which was OFFICIALLY LISTED ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THE OFFICIAL SITE http://www.veneziafc.club (the latter even have blue star). Matthew_hk tc 13:01, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would be better if I have the Venezia FC to contact you to clarify this issue. VFC in Canada (talk) 13:20, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Even WP:OTRS would not change ANY POLICY on forbidden use of unofficial social media and limited use of official social media. Since Venezia FC's were already listed their official social media in the first page of their website, it would consider as a subpage of their web, which normally no need to list it as an entry in the external link section, as redundant. Since even no place for official social media of the club, which fans club would be allowed? Matthew_hk tc 13:27, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's your policy. I can't say more than I stated already. Thank you for your time VFC in Canada (talk) 13:32, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is not my policy, it is formed by community editors and admins. Matthew_hk tc 13:41, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I understand that. I would like to know if it would be possible to add our content on Wikipedia under a new page VFC in Canada (talk) 13:51, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:GNG. Wikipedia is not a free webhost. If and only if your fans club was reported by a newspaper (not a student newspaper) in a detail in-depth report (should use plural reports and newspapers), than the fans club may have an article in wikipedia. However, even the fans club is notable, it could not created by the fans club itself, due to WP:COI. Also, your username may indicated share use and promotional, which may classified as not appropriate username. Matthew_hk tc 13:56, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you.
