Request reason:

Caught by a colocation web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is 58.186.240.3. I'm accessing Wikipedia on my university campus Wi-Fi, it could have been mistaken for a web host. VNTBL (talk) 05:07, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline. You're not directly blocked, so you could edit via other IPs (but please don't try using open proxies elsewhere; that looks bad) and I can't lift any block on your account. The rangeblock you are caught in is a different matter—usually these things would take a great deal of technical discussion to even begin to have a chance of lifting, so we won't try. As for why that block was imposed, it may have something to do with how your university's server is configured. But the better thing to do, really, is to go to WP:IPECPROXY and follow those directions to request IP block exemption. With a lot of servers around the world having these issues and the long blocks resulting from them, it can save you a lot of grief. — Daniel Case (talk) 06:25, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
