External linking

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Bol, Croatia do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. ~Amatulić (talk) 14:58, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bol, Croatia

[edit]

Hi, Amatulic! Although adding an external link seems like a promotional activity or advertising of travel agency, I strongly disagree. Adria Tours Bol, which I tried to add to Bol's wikipage, is the most comprehensive tourist information and service provider in Bol. Their website has more valuable information for tourists than any other (you can check this out), and their support on the spot is most informative and many times awarded. In addition, they try to promote Bol as a whole community and help smaller bussinesses and people. (If you've been to Bol you could also check this)

I think readers should know this fact - especially because Bol is a tourist destination, and 90 % of Bol residents live directly from tourism.

I just think it's unfair that someone who provides the best information and who has the most valuable services which visitors might need in Bol, is not listed in general information about Bol. I repeat, 90 % of Bol's economy is based on travel, so this is, in my opinion, very valuable link.

PS. I'm sorry, I already added the link again, and I kindly ask you to reconsider about Adria Tours external link.

Thank you!!!

Please read WP:ELNO. This is not an appropriate link. There is no compelling reason why Adria Tours Bol should benefit from a link on Wikipedia when other tourism companies do not. Do not add this link again.
