[edit]Hello, I'm ZappaOMati. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the page Lia Marie Johnson, because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. ZappaOMati 02:22, 31 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello ZappaOMati, The external links you are talking about is the twitter and instagram links, correct? If it is part of Wikipedia's rules to not have the person's offsite links to their own pages, then I see why it's inappropriate. However, Lia Marie Johnson encourages her followers to follow her on Twitter and Instagram. As the YouTube link is allowed, as well as the IMDB link, I do not see why her twitter and instagram are not allowed as these are where people can get the most reliable and up-to-date information on her life. I'm sure many people would be pleased with the links. I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Thank you for taking the time in reading this. VisibleProduction (talk) 16:20, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
- WP:ELNO states that:
“ | Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject, one should generally avoid providing external links to: Social networking sites (such as Myspace and Facebook), chat or discussion forums/groups (such as Yahoo! Groups), Twitter feeds, Usenet newsgroups or e-mail lists. | ” |
The IMDb and YouTube links are fine; the former is common for actors, and the YouTube source can be considered as an "official website" of sort, since it's also the main reason as to why she even has a page. ZappaOMati 23:00, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
- If you're still confused by my explanation, I would prefer you read Wikipedia:External links/Perennial websites for a better explanation. ZappaOMati 23:05, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
