Kingdom Life Church Melbourne

[edit]

Good question. I'll start with Wikipedia's policy on deletion. Wikipedia isn't just a collection of information; it's a collection of information that "deserves" to be included. For example, Wikipedia is not the place to write about your dog named Spot or your Aunt Sally's fantastic blueberry muffins. It is, however, the place to write about dogs and muffins. The problem is determining what "deserves" to be included and what doesn't. That line is drawn by the Wikipedia community, and at this point, the general consensus among wikipedians is that many churches, in particular those that aren't really "special", don't "deserve" to be included.

Now, all that is well and good, but we can't just have people going around deleting whatever they want. So, we have two deletion processes for articles, namely WP:PROD ("Proposed Deletion") and WP:AFD ("Articles for deletion"). The second of these two involves discussion where the community attempts to determine what everyone thinks about the article (keep or delete). The first involves someone thinking "This is an obvious case where we should delete" and someone else (in this case, me), agreeing.

For now, I've undeleted the article and will let you work on it some more (maybe there are things that make the church particularly special and thus would make it warrant an article), and then I'll put it up for discussion on WP:AFD. That way we can get more opinions, and who knows, the article might be kept. Let me know if you have any more questions. --Spangineer[es] (háblame) 01:36, 19 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've relisted it for discussion - after a day or two, AfD's tend to get forgotten. I appreciate the patience you have shown on this! Dlyons493 Talk 16:21, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
