QUEEN OF OUKWANYAMA APPOINTS NEW LEADERS
[edit]MeekuluMartha Mwadinomho Kristian Nelumbu is a Queen of Ovakwanyama she appointmented new senior traditional counselors as well as the re-naming of one district and the demarcation of the Uukwanyama tribal area and the creating of two districts.The swearing ceremony took place in Oukwanyama Tribal Office at Helao Nafidi town at nothern part of Namibia in Ohangwena region,on tuesday (2012-10-02). She had announced during the ceremony new traditional leaders and that Ohaingu district has been splited into three, creating the[[ Omungwelume and Ohongo districts. She has appointed former regional councilor for Engela Constituency, Nghidinihamba Ndilula as the senior traditional councilor for Ohaingu, replacing headman Sipora Weyulu-Dan. The new two district, Omungwelume and Ohongo are to be headed by two new people, senior traditional counselor Linda Mwaetako for Omungwelume , and Samuel Matheus of Ohongo respectively.Elias Waandja was appointed as a senior traditional counselor for the Okelemba district, replacing the dismissed senior headman Hangula Vatilifa. The district was also re-named and is to be known as Onandova District. Speaking at the ceremony, Queen Nelumbu "said anyone who disregards the customs and traditional norms of Ovakwanyama is not worth being a traditional leader".In her speech she also mentioned that the leaders must fear and repect God as well as the people they serve.Her expectations is to have good leaders's , no bosses, but servants of God's peolple.She urged the traditional leaders must Avoid Corruption and act fairly practices and be transparent.No discrimination against anyone based on gender, religion, political affiliation or economic status.She decided to split Ohaingu into three districts, two with 54 villages each, while the third is composed of 52 villages, with the aim of making districts easy to manage.She said “I will continue with this process of bringing the services closer to the people".The Oukwanyama tribal area was divided into 9 districts but after the the Okalongo broke a way to separate Traditonal Authority on 2004 the number was reduced to8.Due to the creation of two district(Omungwelume and Ohongo)the number goes up to 10.
