Villa de Allende
[edit]Villa de Allende is a municipality located in the extreme southwest of Mexico State. It is 70 km towards the west of Toluca`s city. Villa de Allende has 318.8 km2 and it has a population of 6,138. It is characterized for warm and sub humid weather with rains in summer principally in June to August. It is a very cold place because of its altitude is from 2,380 up to 3,200 meters on the level of the sea. [1]
Villa de Allende current name was given in honor to Ignacio Allende (hero of the Mexican Independence). Villa de Allende is a flourishing municipality that possesses innumerable natural resources.
The agriculture is the most important activity of the municipality. It has got 21,663.39 hectares destined for the agricultural use, which represents 69.12 % of the whole of the surface. The main products sowed are: the corn, wheat, bean, barley, oats, pear tree and walnut.
To the west of the municipality is located part of the sanctuary of the monarch butterfly. In the North-East of the municipality is located the Laguna Verde and Laguna Seca. And the Bull ring was built in 1945 in the municipal head-board. [2]
