Roses are beautiful flowers. I would have liked to read more about what makes roses unique in comparison to other flowers. Here are a couple links: http://www.gardenguides.com/88140-characteristics-rose-flower.html http://giftflowers.com.hk/en/blog/the-beauty-of-garden-roses/ --Elahtm (talk) 16:57, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Great article. An idea for expansion can be to look at the symbolism of roses in tattoo designs and the meaning behind them from different perspectives. This blog, http://secretinktattoo.wordpress.com/2013/03/16/what-does-your-rose-tattoo-mean/, goes over this and different depictions of a rose tattoo. Also looking at the combination of a rose and another object to create different meanings can be found at this site http://www.freetattoodesigns.org/rose-tattoos.html. --Nixmixx17 (talk) 16:38, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, very interesting article! It was straight to the point and very informative. If you expand on this topic I would love to see more on the symbolism the rose held in cultures throughout history; a source that you could use for that is https://pegasus.cc.ucf.edu/~janzb/courses/hum3930b/rosesymbol.htm another source I found that could be used on this topic is http://www.whitedragon.org.uk/articles/rose.htm.--MAG95 (talk) 03:22, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sources from current article[edit]

Hey @VnessElizHart: Have you checked out the sources which are currently used in Rose (symbolism)? I think there are a few there which could be used in your draft alongside the sources you've found already. Additionally, you've got a lot of statements referenced to guides from flower shops. While ok to be used sparingly, we should avoid building an entire article from these sorts of sources because it's very difficult for a reader to determine how reliable they are. Roses are a beautiful flower and it is amazing to see how it is symbolized in different cultures and how it can be broken out by colour choice. If you were ever to expand on this topic, it would be great to read how the rose is used as a symbol between subjects such as angels or miracles. The article on http://angels.about.com/od/AngelsPopularCulture/a/Sacred-Roses-The-Spiritual-Symbolism-Of-The-Rose.htm may give you a bit of insight on this topic. Or, the article on http://campus.udayton.edu/mary/rosarymarkings36.html can help you understand the meaning of the rose to Christians. You already touched on some other religions in your article but it would be great to see each religion and their overall interpretations. --Oliviadias8987 (talk) 20:43, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
