A tag has been placed on Folk Music (Far*East Movement album), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Butseriouslyfolks 03:54, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the page should not be deleted for copyright reasons. However, there is no indication that the group is sufficiently notable to deserve to be included in Wikipedia.

Please review Wikipedia:Notability_(music). After studying that page, if you think the group is notable, you should place the hangon message on the page (as explained in the tag) and revise the article so it tells the reader why the group is notable. Do not remove the tag. When it comes up for review, the administrator will decide whether it should be kept or deleted. -- Butseriouslyfolks 07:09, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template Removal[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. -- Butseriouslyfolks 18:19, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: FM - Folk Music[edit]

Hi, I don't have any control over when an administrator is going to delete a page. I'm sorry it got wiped before you had a chance to improve the article.

The notability guidelines for a band are here. Once you have reviewed them, if you think you can make a good case for this band being notable, you are encouraged to re-create the article. Just make sure you include the information that shows they are notable.

Also, don't cut-and-paste from another website, because that will be picked up as a copyright violation. If you have permission to copy directly from another website, there is a procedure for that here. It's not enough to just say on the talk page that you have permission.

Sorry it's so involved, but these rules are necessary to try to keep Wikipedia as close to an encyclopedia as possible, make sure the articles are useful and avoid lawsuits for copyright infringements.

Thanks for contributing!
