Proposed deletion of The Beltanes

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article The Beltanes, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Barely any claim to notability for music. No references to verify. Google doesn't help either

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hi Omarcheeseboro, and thanks for the comments. There are a few referencable newspaper articles etc that may help to improve the article, but I am having some practical problems finding them just now. I may need some more time, so would it be possible to extend the time allowed before the article is considered for deletion. In terms of notability, the band did perform as part of a national tour, albeit as a support act to the top billers (who already have a Wikipedia entry), as was a well known part of the Glasgow music scene at the time. I'm new to Wikipedia so I'm not sure how best to present this to improve notability, so any suggestions you have would be helpful. WikiTSL (talk) 11:13, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nice working cleaning it up. The links found in the tags are generally pretty helpful. I would also recommend taking a look at articles about similar bands. Also, FYI, in a situation like this you should leave a note on my talk page, because I may have never seen your message here. --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 13:03, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
