Question for administrator

[edit]

The article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Eastern_European_Dialogue_on_Internet_Governance_(SEEDIG) was deleted by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Liz (speedy deletion) yet the article ostensibly did not satisfy a reason for speedy deletion. Could you restore the article or at least send the contents of the article?

I opine that a discussion about the deletion would have been in order. It was asserted that the article fell under Unambiguous advertising or promotion (G11) criterion for speedy deletion. However, arguably, this is not true. SEEDIG, the transnational organization in question was not part of those writing the article. Instead, a group of university students drafted the article. Now, one might argue that was written in such a way that it appeared promotional (but it was not meant to be). A better procedure would have been to move the article into AfD and have a discussion about it (this would also be more instructional for students and new Wikipedians than a unduly speedy deletion, in my opinion).

Thank you!

Georgia IGF moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Georgia IGF, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. – Pbrks (t • c) 01:26, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I will work on it in Draft: mode.
