It may intrigue you to know that the article on Sterett (with the incorrect spelling) was created by a Wikipedia user Asteuartw - likely a relative of the soldier who served under (I assume) your relative and succeeded him as lieutenant colonel of the 5th Regiment. P.P.S. Also, it may be useful to point out that there are more than 6000 references in Google Books to Joseph Sterrett[1] (many of which appear to be references to the subject of this article with two "r's") and only 1500 to Joseph Sterett,[2] so it appears to have been a common error, probably for many years, perhaps as far back as the events cited. You probably know that as well as anyone. Probably appropriate that the redirect remain here on Wikipedia. Dwpaul ^Talk 23:09, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
