What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.

Request reason:

Our site provides a wealth of high-quality learning resources about great and famous writers (Austen, Shakespeare etc.), produced by academics at the university of Oxford. When the links were added, it was with the full intention of widening the access of many of these free podcasts, eBooks, essays and vidoes. We thought that those interested in Mary Leapor may want to read some of the eBooks available freely online under the CC license, as well as listen to and watch discussions with world-leaders in the field. There are also a handful of essays on Mary Leapor on the link provided, which may interest a researcher. Our main site, podcasts.ox.ac.uk[1] (of which writersinspire.org [2]is a daughter site) has already received 100,000+ downloads, and so advertising was in no way our concern. If such an endeavour is agreeable to the T&Cs of Wikipedia, we would like to add links to other inspiring writers, such as Kipling, Joyce, Blake, Webster, Behn, and so on. We apologise if the content came across as spam.

Decline reason:

For a start, "we" won't be unblocked. You need to be aware that accounts on Wikipedia are for individuals only and not for organisations. Second, your new choice appears to represent the same entity. Thirdly, Wikipedia is not a collection of links. If your intention is only to link to this one place, that is spamming in our view. The intentions are not relevant - our rules on promotion apply equally to good causes as well as to purely commercial outfits. It might be that the links are considered worth adding, but this would have in discussion at the relevant Project dealing with literature (someone else will point you the right way when the first two points are addressed). OK. That request won't work because the brackets are missing. I'm not going to try to fix it.Anyway, you have to change your name to something not related to the organisation. Just make up something like Aphra Kipling, or Herbert Winkle, or SquidgeFox or whatever. The third point (good title for a book, that... I might look into writing it) is that this is a place for articles. We have some external links at the end of articles, but if someone goes around adding links to one place only, then we call that spamming. Doesn't matter if it's Harry Bogg's Delicatessen or Oxford University. Somewhere in this place there is a Literature Project who specialise in articles to do with Literature. They will have a talk page where they can discuss the value of these links. If they are found valuable (and not advertising), they can be approved by the Project. If what they have is already covered, they won't be needed. Here we are, found it. Wikipedia:WikiProject Literature. Right. As there are two of you, you'll have to have different names. Suggest a couple of names to me, and if they're OK, I'll lift the IP block that will be preventing you starting a new account. This is on condition that you don't have a splurge of link adding (which would be reverted anyway), and that you talk with the Literature Project. Thank you for taking so much time to respond to us. Will these names do? I will go and enquire on the Lit Project, thanks for linking us. Can we put more than one link on there? I don't think it will let me link unless I'm unblocked, unfortunately. Incidentally, the links don't all lead to the same place (i.e. each author has a separate page, but the eBooks are separate to the podcasts, which are separate to the essays... etc.) Thanks again.

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. And talk to the people at Lit Project before adding links. Only apply for one of the names, the other can be a new account.
