Speedy deletion of User:Writicus

[edit]

A tag has been placed on User:Writicus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:User:Writicus|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 19:25, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I made a mistake in not learning in a sandbox. I am working to make the entry worthy of the encyclopedia. Suggestions are appreciated. Writicus (talk) 20:09, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moving your draft article off of your main user page

[edit]

User:Writicus should be about you. I realize you made a mistake putting that page there. If you like, I can move it to another name that is more appropriate, such as User:Writicus/Sandbox or User:Writicus/Online Stores Incorporated, while you work on it.

In any case, unless this company meets WP:Notability or WP:Notability (organizations) it will be sent to WP:Articles for deletion where, after a discussion of about 5 days, it will be deleted unless the editors agree that the company meets notability requirements.

If you decide that the company does not meet Wikipedia's notability requirements, you may simply erase what is there and replace it with a normal user page. User pages generally tell something about you, but they can be nondescript as well. When you sign your name at the end of a comment with ~~~~, a link to both your user page and your user talk page appears. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 20:33, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please Move Thank you

[edit]

Davidwr, Thank you for responding and offering help. Yes, I would appreciate if you would move the page to User:Writicus/Online Stores Incorporated while I work on it. I also understand what you are telling me about notability. Thanks again. Writicus (talk) 21:18, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the page to User:Writicus/Online Stores Incorporated. Kind regards, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 21:46, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's not just notability that is an issue. The draft is very promotional in tone -- see WP:Spam. – ukexpat (talk) 00:58, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:OLS-Logo.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:OLS-Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:43, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
