Calton's hatred of MyWikiBiz

Seems to be overruling the consensus of three admins and a couple of other editors. -- Shelborne Concierge (talk) 14:11, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: Suicide

Just a short reply to your comment on El C's page, as I didn't want to keep posting to it and bothering him. I reacted to the post by BETA, in that, I thought it was very wrong to list reasons why the person was hoaxing and that BETA could not possibly be knowledgeable about suicide and how to deal with those who use Wikipedia to post those thoughts, whether they are hoaxes or not. I agree with you that more discussion needs to happen, but I don't know where to start. My responses here and there were quick, and lacked detail for brevity reasons, and by no means are my only thoughts on the matter. But, I don't know if I want to get into something like that, but I'm up to help here and there if needed. I did change/add a couple of things to the essay.

Wikipedia cannot and should not be a substitute for medical advice. I think you know that, and maybe it's somewhere in another essay saying as much. The suicide essay needs a lot of work. If anything, it needs to be shortened and more concise. Oh lol, I was trying to keep this short, but the more I try to explain, the more words come into my head. I just didn't want you to think I was ignoring you. It's a very complicated issue, one which everyone has their own opinion. But, saying someone is lying is going a bit too far, in my opinion. That was why I posted in reaction to BETA's analysis in the first place. Sheesh, I'm getting myself deeper and deeper here. It's a complicated issue and very hard to deal with over the internet, so I'll just end with that. :) Cheers. ←GeeAlice 05:26, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
