Research on the name Ashur-bel-nisheshu

[edit]

You wrote: Here is a little research I made on the name
Ashur : The Beginning, sky pivot, sky axle, God of Assyrian
Bel : PrayerFul, Beautiful, God's Promise
Nish : Awesome
Shu : God of Dry Air, Winds, Sun, ... Son of The Creator
Nisheshu can also mean : He who rise from nothing

Response:
nišū = "people," feminine, plural noun
-šu = "his," 3rd person, masculine, singular suffixed pronoun
nišēšu = "of his people," see Huehnergard "A Grammar of Akkadian" pp. 84ff, for noun with possessive pronominal suffixes to explain the declension.

Your "research" appears to be fanciful and is unreferenced and has therefore been removed.BigEars42 (talk) 21:54, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is why it is so valuable to reference contributions. I would recommend caution when depending solely on Google searches, as not all results are equally reliable. For example, if you search the god Kabta you will find hundreds of results mistakenly confusing him with the brick-god Kulla, a mistake I have tried to rectify on Wikipedia. If you can assist in improving the accuracy of the contents of this encyclopedia, your contributions will be very, very welcome. If you are new, expanding and adding references to stubs is probably the best place to start.BigEars42 (talk) 22:42, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
