Feedback on your article
[edit]Greetings Xqchen9!
I've looked at your article at User:Xqchen9/sandbox it looks that you've added a bunch of text and a few references compared to Yangmingism. That's all great! I had a few pieces of feedback:
- It looks like there are some references from the previous version that you've removed. Is this intentional?
- Some markup (like bold facing, etc) seems to have also gone missing. Some of these were definitely mistakes and I've fixed a few. Again, it's very important that the article doesn't get worse.
- You've created a bunch of sections in the article that have no information in it or seem to just be links. Wikipedia articles should be "done" in whatever state they have. If you don't have material to put in a section, don't create a section. If you want to list notable figures, you should just do that in a list or, better yet, a paragraph that describes them.
- Some of the new material that you've added is just bullet lists. Remember that a good article should be a article full of well-cited prose, not just lists.
I don't think your article is ready yet. Go ahead and try to fix your up article and then ping me and/or Altsalt and we'll give your article a quick once-over before we give permission to move it over. —mako๛ 23:32, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Xqchen9: It looks pretty good to me! You should take a look at this list of suggestions for polishing your article which is a helpful set of ideas from altsalt. Many won't apply but some might. I've gone through and made a few edits to your articles to clean things up—mostly tiny stylistic things but there are definitely more like that. Look at the history to see what I've done before you move it over. Do a final pass and try to address any of the things on the list on our website that you think are useful and would improve things. Then go ahead and make it live. Good work! —mako๛ 05:22, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
