Welcome, and username issues

Hello, and welcome to editing Wikipedia. I hope you will have a successful time here. The couple of edits to articles that you have made, while being only small changes, have certainly been improvements, so thank you for that. (Incidentally, I think it's best to start with small improvements like that. People who jump straight into doing bigger things without having enough experience often get into problems.) I have also read your comments about your user name. There is a serious likelihood that your username will cause problems, anywhere on a spectrum from other editors being unlikely to cooperate with you up to an administrator blocking you from editing because of a violation of the username policy. Because of that policy you should not continue to edit with your current username. You can just create a new account, but you can instead keep your existing edits attached to your account by having a change of username. If you want to do that, then let me know what new name you would like, and if there are no problems then I'll change it for you. In order to avoid wasting time requesting a username which has already been taken, check at Special:CentralAuth. Put your proposed new username in the box and click on "View user information". If the name is already in use, you will see information about the account with that name. If it isn't yet taken you will see a message saying "There is no global account for [whatever name you put in]". If your username is changed and you then try to log in under your old username, you will get a message telling you that the username or password is wrong, which might make you think that you have lost access to your account. Corrections to English

Most of the changes you made in the article Cancer insurance were certainly improvements, and a didn't make much difference either way, but two of them were mistakes, and I have reverted them.

• "After a patient has developed cancer proper" means "after a patient has developed cancer in the strict sense of the word", that is to say real cancer, as opposed to just conditions which may develop into cancer. "After a patient has developed cancer properly" would mean something very different: "After a patient has developed cancer in the correct manner, as opposed to developing cancer but doing so in a wrong way".
• " Saying that policies "agree in that they impose restrictions" means that they are the same in the respect of imposing restrictions, whereas saying that they "agree that they impose restrictions" means that they all hold he opinion that they impose restrictions.

Try to be careful to avoid changing things where you don't fully understand the wording, as far as you can. JBW (talk) 10:54, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
