Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username to a username which complies with our username policy, so that your contributions with this username are recorded as contributions of your new username and rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I have spent a long time creating a wiki page under this username, can I change the username of this account so as to not lose the page created YBG Team (talk) 18:49, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

Decline reason:

With no response after two days to the questions below, there's no way to know whether you are still interested in editing Wikipedia without writing about your own business. I'm declining for now, but if you check back and do want to become a Wikipedia volunteer, feel free to ask again. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 15:51, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Max Semenik (talk) 18:58, 15 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Young Black Graduates UK is not a business, it is a not-for-profit organisation. The content of the page has been written in a neutral tone to explain the organisation, not to promote or advertise but to allow for people conducting research to find the necessary neutral information. I understand conflict of interest and as I have stated, the article is written in a purely neutral tone and this will never change. I am not trying to entice anyone into supporting the group, simply providing information to those who may research a topic related to the organisation.

I have read wikipedia's rules on notability and understand that the article is compliant.

The question of whether this organization makes a profit or not is not relevant to the conflict of interest guidelines. I'm puzzled by your response; you say that you have read the conflict of interest guidelines, but they strongly encourage everyone to avoid writing about their own organization, and you indicate that you will continue to write about your own organization, and that it is the only subject you will be writing about. You say that you have read the notability criteria, but you also say that your article met the criteria, which it definitely did not. Are you sure you fully understood the rules when you read them? It seems like you are still only interesting in promoting your organization, and you haven't expressed any interest at all in being a volunteer to help write the encyclopedia. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:32, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
